The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office Records Unit handles requests for police reports, other records for which the Sheriff's Office is the records custodian, and records checks.
Records Division Hours: Records requests can be made Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Requests generally take 3 to 5 business days to process, but could take up to 10 business days, depending on the size of the request. Records requests are processed and responded to in the order in which they are received.
As of October 15th, 2024, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office will no longer process requests for Crash Reports. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is the records custodian for these reports. Crash reports can be searched and requested from the WI DOT website at: https://crashreports.wi.gov/
Please note that the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office remains the records custodian for information that may accompany a crash report, including narrative reports, photographs, and video recordings. Please continue to contact our office if you wish to request this information.
